Dr. Blackaby grew up in Saskatoon Saskatchewan and Vancouver British Columbia. He left Canada to attend school at Hardin Simmons University where he received a BBS degree in History and Criminal Justice. Dr. Blackaby received an MDiv with Biblical Languages as well as a PhD in Biblical Background and Archeology from Southwestern Seminary. He has served in a variety of ministry settings over the years from teaching in university and seminary settings, serving as a senior pastor of two churches, and working alongside his father for 6 years in Blackaby Ministries International. Blackaby is the co-author of several books including: Character: The Heartbeat of a Disciple's Life; Encounters with God: Transforming Your Bible Study, Experiencing Prayer with Jesus, Called and Accountable: Discovering Your Place In God's Eternal Purpose, Encountering God Study Bible, as well as numerous discipleship studies and books.
Scott Bryant - Worship Pastor

Scott has served in vocational ministry for more than 34 years and has been the Worship Pastor at Lamar since 1987. He is passionate about the ministry of worship and a firm believer in the priority of worship for all Christians, regardless of their level of talent. Encouraging people to be daily worshipers, he also enjoys helping in every way possible those pursuing vocational Christian ministry. Scott earned Master of Church Music at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He continued his education with doctoral studies at Dallas Baptist University, the University of South Africa, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he is now completing his doctoral work. Scott and his wife, Kendra, are blessed with two wonderful, married children.
Dr. Charles Redding - Pastor of Administration, Preschool, Children, and Families

Charles serves as our Pastor for Administration, Preschool, Children, and Families. He has been in ministry to Preschoolers, Children and Families for 30 years and has served at Lamar for more than 15 years. His passion has been to help children and families along their spiritual journey. Charles has been writing books and curriculum for 20 years. His most recent work, Relentless, Too! – a 40 Day Journey for Kids, is a companion book to Relentless, written by Pastor Kevin Moore. Charles is a conference leader who has taught nationally in Children’s Ministry and in Family Ministry. He earned a B.S. in Accounting, an M.A. in Christian Education, an M.A. in Marriage and Family Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Counseling with a concentration in Children’s Ministry. Charles and his wife, Sandra, have been married more than 25 years and have two adult children.
Dr. Justin Buchanan - Interim Student Pastor

Justin grew up in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Bristol, Tennessee as the youngest of three boys. He married his gracious and beautiful wife, Sarah, in 2003 and they have a tribe of five boys: Isaac, Ethan, Micah, Malachi, and Titus.
The greatest moment of Justin’s life came at the age of seventeen. After living a filthy, broken, hopeless life as a rebel of God, he was rescued by the immeasurable grace and mercy of God through the completed work of Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Justin began college with the intent to pursue a career in medicine until God made clear His desire for Justin’s vocational service in ministry. He has served as Church Planter, Lead Pastor, Student Pastor, and Middle School and Children’s Director in churches in both Tennessee and North Carolina. He currently serves as a professor at Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth teaching primarily in the areas of student and family ministry.
He likes classic cars, especially Mustangs, playing basketball and ultimate Frisbee, and one day when he has spare time he might like to take up some hobby.
Chinlianlal Tungnung - Assistant Pastor of Zo

Chinlianlal is from Manipur, India. He belongs to the Zo Tribe (people group from India and Myanmar). He serves as the Assistant Pastor of Zo at Lamar Baptist Church. Previously, he served as the Pastor of the Zo Christian Bible Church in Imphal, Manipur, India prior to his coming to the United States. He earned his B.A. (Honors) in Political Science at Delhi University and a Bachelor of Divinity from Union Biblical Seminary, Pune (Senate of Serampore, India). He came to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fall 2012. He graduated with a Masters of Divinity in Spring 2016. He is currently pursuing a Th.M in New Testament at SWBTS. Chinlianlal is instrumental in organizing the migrant Zo community from Myanmar to be active in Lamar Baptist Church. He speaks English, Hindi, and Manipuri besides Zo, his first language. Chinlianlal and his wife, Nemneichong, have been married for 15 years and are blessed with three girls.
Judi Perkins - Preschool Minister

Judi serves as Preschool Minister at Lamar. Judi is an experienced educator with a M.A. in Education. Her passions involve God, children, young families and, specifically, the intersection of those three. Judi loves to help the Bible come alive to the little ones in our care. She does that as she teaches them and leads this ministry. Judi loves reading and crafting and uses those in creative ways in her ministry. Judi and her husband, Brad, have three adult sons and love to make adventurous trips around the world.
